I am Eric, but friends and family know me as Hip! (short for Hippinshlog)

I have a partner, 3 dogs & 1 cat. I am a former DJ/Producer with degrees in audio engineering and theater post production. I am also a silversmith and jewelry designer. I also dabble in graphic design and artwork production. But most importantly, I am a seasoning and rub chef. I have started Darkside Smokehouse in order to both break free from the daily grind of making millionaires dreams come true and bring people together through fellowship of good food. While I provide my own custom seasonings, sauces and rubs, I also provide recipe ideas, demo and how to videos based on the ideals of teaching one to fish rather than feeding the fish.

 

When I am not cooking up something new, you can find me in my natural habitat in front of the grill!
